The legacy

Why Carlson Gracie

Carlson Gracie is one of the biggest names in the history of the sport, and it’s not a name we wear lightly.

About Our Method Our Story Why Carlson Gracie Coaches Gear Seminars with Jose

What Carlson did

Carlson threw the doors open. While parts of the Gracie family wanted to keep jiu-jitsu close, Carlson spread it to everyone he could reach. That’s the spirit we’ve kept. To us the name means tradition, hard work, and a door held open for anyone who walks up to it.

The name only matters if you carry it properly.
01

Open to everyone

Carlson took jiu-jitsu beyond the family and gave it to anyone willing to work.

02

Work over privilege

The room respects effort, not status. Everyone earns what they know on the mat.

03

Carry it properly

The name is not decoration. It is a standard we are expected to live up to.

“There are gyms all over that come from Carlson Gracie. They just changed the name. We stayed real.”

In Jose’s words

“I don’t think we’re better than anyone. But there’s something in our culture that’s special. It’s unique. No one else is going to get it.”
