Renan Secco

1st Degree Black Belt

Renan Secco is a 1st degree Black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Starting his BJJ career in 2004 in his home town of Caxias do Sul, Brasil from Professor Rodrigo Dias who came under Masters Walter Mattos and Mario Sperry, the Sul Jiu Jitsu creators. Renan joined Carlson Gracie New Zealand in 2012 as a purple belt and was promoted to his brown belt in 2013 by Jose Gomes. Renan received his Black belt in December 2015 while visiting home from New Zealand on a seminar with the legendary Mario Sperry and Walter Mattos in attendance. 

With a huge amount of experience in competition from white belt to black belt, Renan has competed in over 40 major Jiu Jitsu tournaments with a high level of success.

Renan was also a part of the MMA scene in 2016 competing in 7 fights with a record of 4-2-1 (W-L-D).

Renan brings a high level of technical expertise and talent to the Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu New Zealand Team, and is a key instructor at the academy. Renan teaches the Advanced Gi and No Gi Adult Classes.
