Our Adults Gi Beginners and Advanced Classes suit adults of any skill level. Whether you are just beginning the sport, have completed the Fundamentals Course or are looking to take your skill to the next level, our classes help develop your skills and Jiu Jitsu techniques.

Our classes focus more on breaking down the movements and more in-depth exploration of advanced techniques and movements for those who already have the basics in place.

Adults Gi Beginners

Our Beginners Gi Classes are suited for those who are just beginning the sport of Jiu Jitsu and may have also just completed the Fundamentals Course. This class is a great gateway into learning, revising, and getting to know Jiu Jitsu techniques. In this particular class, we focus more on breaking down the movements and focusing on the details as this is fundamental to building a better game. This class is mostly suited for white belts, however, also opened to coloured belts as well.

Participation level: White belts and above

Adults Gi Advanced

Our Advanced Gi Classes are suited for those who have a higher level of experience and are ready to take their game to the next level. This class looks into more in-depth exploration of advanced techniques and movements for those who already have the basics in place. This class is where you will really begin to put your skills to the test. With more complex techniques and harder sessions, the tempo of the class increases, with the focus moving to a more serious nature with emphasis on live sparring and preparing athletes for tournaments and competitions. Attention is given to conditioning and performance in full strength application of Jiu Jitsu.

Participation level: Blue to black belts only

Our BJJ warm-ups for beginner and advanced Adult Gi classes are centred around light cardio. It ranges from running in a circle around the academy to stationary cardio exercises like jumping jacks and skipping.

Positional Movements & Advanced Techniques

Positional Movements & Advanced Techniques

The six main BJJ positions include guard, side control, knee on belly, mount, rear mount and turtle. Our Adult Gi classes focus on positional movements and advanced techniques.

Rolling / Sparring

Rolling / Sparring

Rolling is an all-encompassing term for sparring or drilling at various degrees of intensity. Our Adult Gi classes include rolling and sparring at different levels of intensity depending on your beginner or advanced level.
